On their 18th wedding anniversary, full-time housewife Erin discovers that her husband, top divorce lawyer Derek, is cheating with her best friend Sophia. Facing her husband's humiliation, her best friend's betrayal, and her daughter Mia's coldness, Erin is thrown out of the house. Penniless, she turns to her old acquaintance Gavin for help and, through a reckless car race, wins the initial funding to enter the Intercontinental Beauty Pageant. In the competition, with solid makeup skills and an unbreakable will, Erin fights her way back step by step. She not only defeats Sophia but also exposes the scandal of bribing judges and bullying contestants, and finally wins the crown. Throughout the journey, Gavin is her steadiest support. In truth, he is the chairman of K Group, the exclusive sponsor of the pageant. He hides his identity to help Erin become truly independent. After her victory, Erin officially signs on as K Group's global ambassador. Refusing to accept defeat, Derek and Sophia plot to offer Mia to a billionaire at a charity gala in exchange for resources, but are exposed on the spot by Erin and Gavin. Completely unhinged, Derek kidnaps Erin with the intent of dying together, while Mia, having come to her senses in time, calls Gavin for help. In the end, Gavin rescues Erin, Derek takes his own life in front of his daughter, and Sophia is injured in a car accident during the struggle. Having walked the edge of life and death, Erin not only builds her career but also reclaims her self and her dignity. She forgives Mia but asks her daughter to learn to stand on her own. Beneath the sunset by the sea, Gavin proposes once again at the place where they first met as teenagers, and Erin happily accepts, and the two open a new chapter of their lives together.
