To test their children's loyalty, businessman Lam Hai-thanh and his wife stage a bankruptcy, and the husband fakes a stroke. Their selfish biological son, Hua Thien-ha, and his wife refuse to hand over 30,000 yuan to save his father, yet splurge 88,000 yuan on beauty treatments and turn the parents away, scorning their poverty. In contrast, their adopted children, Hua Thien-an and his wife, pour every last yuan they have into saving their father, fulfilling their filial duty. When the truth comes out, the couple gives their entire fortune of 50 million yuan to the adopted child and revokes all of their biological child's resources. Hua Thien-ha and his wife fall into ruin, divorce, and struggle at the bottom of society, finally awakening too late. Though the family has not fully reconciled, each member now has a fresh start, proving that family bonds lie not in blood, but in the heart.
