Tiêu Mộ Trầm falls into a psychological crisis after the tragic death of his girlfriend Kim Triều Hy. To avenge her, he pretends to recover and is discharged from the hospital, while quietly orchestrating a meticulous "game of chess" to take revenge on those who harmed Hy – including Ngụy Chấn Vũ, Bạch Gia Tử and the other culprits. He exploits the conflicts between them to make them destroy each other, and in the end they all fall into the net of the law. At the end of the story, Tiêu Mộ Trầm exposes the truth and takes responsibility for his own illegal acts.
