In Luoyang, the wealthy Gu couple suddenly vanish, leaving behind four daughters. The younger branch led by Uncle Second Gu joins forces with the Li family, rivals of the Gus, to seize control of the estate. Using every excuse, they force eldest daughter Gu Ruoruo to marry Li Cong, the Li family's second son, stripping her of her inheritance. With help from her three younger sisters, Ruoruo foils Uncle Second's scheme and eventually allies with Li Ke, the Li family's eldest son. Through a "two-headed" marriage, they defeat the plots of rival branches within the clan, and in a bond that is both adversarial and allied, they draw ever closer until they finally become husband and wife.
