Substitute Bride, Rightful Heiress Takes Control
62 episode · 62/62 tập
Khuong Lenh Chi, the neglected legitimate daughter of the Khuong household, is betrayed on her wedding day by her fiancé Tieu Yen and her stepsister Khuong Lenh Dien. Fiercely unyielding, she clasps the spirit tablet of General Tieu Canh Dich and marries him right in the funeral hall, entering the Duke's mansion as the fourth wife. But Canh Dich, though revived, lies gravely wounded in a coma and is said to have only three months to live. To secure her place in the inner court, Lenh Chi accepts the matriarch's proposal of a 'ghost marriage for an heir' and willingly shares a bed with her unconscious husband. Within the mansion, she outwits her stepmother Madam So, who embezzles her dowry, and her spiteful sister-in-law Madam Luc; she exposes Lenh Dien's scheme of faking a pregnancy to frame others. In an archery and horsemanship contest she completely overpowers the eldest grandson Tieu Yen and seizes control of the household in a single round. Meanwhile Canh Dich slowly wakes. Once disdainful of her humble origins, he becomes drawn to her intelligence and courage. Together they investigate, uncovering that the ambush at Northern Frontier years ago is closely tied to the embezzlement of army supplies by the Thuy Prince's household and his elder brother Tieu Canh Binh.
